Steering wheel locked no start
 

Hey everybody, first post on this forum. Though I'm a newbie I did use the search button couldn't come up with a solution.

14 BRZ has been starting fine no issues go out this morning engage clutch accessorie comes on all lights on and nothing. Tried a few more times, still nothing. Steering wheel was obviously locked, so I did the usual jiggle back and forth and tried still nothing! This went on for 20 minutes.

I researched regarding key fob and held the back of it to the push to start and tried still nothing. Got home from qork (10 hours later) still nothing. Now have 2 key fobs and tried multiple times with each and you guessed it, still nothing. So I'm sitting there frustrated and annoyed and I try it again just a normal start nothing fancy and I here the steering lock FINALLY disengage. And the car starts.

Now my ? Is WTF is that about? I've never seen something so ridiculous with a car before, anyone have any insight, obviously the problem is the wheel is staying locked so the car won't start but why?

You have to hold the pressure off the steering lock to get it to start, just jiggling doesn't always work. If the solenoid can't disengage the lock, the car won't start because of safety.
