I was thinking how the Watanabes would look on the FRS and now there's finally real world photos. Unfortunately they look better on the AE86 and other old school cars as many of you have said.

I agree. They look MUCH better on older cars, and don't flatter newer ones. Negative offset, maybe.

Honestly the best thing going for them is the weight. I think most people like them just because of the association with the Initial D car.

Weak offset, too high, ugly side strips, tacky body kit and silly exhaust. Ruined is being polite.

Not bad, but I have to agree it would look better with a lower offset. Doesn't need to be herraflush or anything but a lower offset with a nice stepped lip, would set it off

here it is with a much better fitment. not a big fan of the color combo though. but it has the brand new direzza zii in 245/40.

this set on this brz are much more conservatively sized at 17x7 +45 but they're magnesium! 13.2 lbs!

yeah i was thinking about that too..do you think r-type watanabes 16x8 +0 would fit without wide fenders?

Definitely won't need over fenders for that.
16x8 +0 should be able to fit without much issue. Would be even easier if the car is lowered on coilovers.
