First accident for my series blue :(

A way back, I posted another post in regards NJ interstate route 80 constructions and my car getting hit with all rocks from the pavement and construction.

Well, this morning, my car got hit by a medium size piece (im not sure what it was). It hit my front right side of the bumper and damage the sti lip kit, the bumper, the fog housing, the fog light, and dis-align the front right side of the bumper from the fender. I attached the picture but believe me that it looks worse in person.

Im so pissed at this because im sick of all the shit fighting around that interstate, the issue is that i can't avoid that highway because i have to get to work.

Anaways, i called the insurance and open a claim, i have to paid the $500 deductible and insurance will take care of the rest for the repair, i have never open a claim before and im not sure how long it will take for the repair to complete.

Can anybody from north jersey advise on a good/reputable auto body shop?

Thanks.

Didn't you just get that lip fixed? Don't look too bad...

SisterBlue22 07-07-2015 02:24 PM

That sucks...good luck getting her back to normal. Also, twins on the Apple Watch with white band!

i already set up the appointment with a body shop near my house, its called Class A Autobody in hackensack nj, as per reviews they are pretty good. Looks like ill be driving a rental car for who knows how long....

NyC Zn6 07-07-2015 03:16 PM

I think my brain hurt looking at the damage and went for the reflection as a buffer!

Jfheisenberg 07-08-2015 02:45 PM

I just got a call from the insurance and body shop, estimated repair is $1300. Looks like i'll be getting a new fog housing and new sti front lip (shop order the parts already from subaru). All other parts are getting fixed and bumper is getting repainted. ETA of getting my car back is 7/14 - 7/15 hopefully.

I think i might be able to fix the damage sti lip(i have a friend that fixed a similar scratch on that lip) , once repair, it might go on for sale for any local brz buddies

adamg 07-08-2015 02:53 PM

get the fog deletes from the premium and remove those ugly things

adamg 07-08-2015 02:54 PM

also seems pointless to get a new front lip at this point, guarantee you'll scrape it again within months. Just fix bumper and pocket the rest

that was insurance's call, anyways i only pay the $500 deductible and insurance pays the rest.

You can do that there? Here the insurance company just cuts a cheque to the shop and there is no hope of you every getting a penny of it.

Most companies over here will just tell you to go to a shop and get a quote. Then they will just mail you the check. Then you do what you want with that check.
Most people i know pocket the cash if they drive a beater or go a different route if they want to modify the car with the money, thats what i've always done

Go to the section you want to start a thread in and look for the New Topic button up in the left top corner.
Ohhhhh and think carefully before starting a thread. Is it in the right section is always a good place to start.
