Which helmets are still made in the USA?

So, I'm needing to get a helmet for Autocross. The loaners are starting to get pretty gross with the temps going up recently. I've been looking around at different brands of SA2010 helmets. I've seen a lot that I like, but it seems like most of them are made in China. Are there any out there that are still made in the USA? I prefer to buy American whenever I can, so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Yeah, I've read different things about Bell. I know for sure that Impact makes most of their helmets in the US.

Black Armor Helmets makes some great carbon fiber helmets. The owner, James Wilson, is very nice and also races in Pirelli World Challenge too.

Many of the Simpson helmets are no longer made in the USA.

Those are pretty awesome, and a good deal for cf helmets! I may have to get in on that SA2015 pre-order deal.

Nice stuff, I may need a new lid.

I've talked to James and handled a few of the helmets at a recent NASA event. They are very nice. I've got an SA2015 on pre-order to replace my current Bell (which isn't that bad a helmet in its own right).

Not made in the USA. Chinese import from BSR, which is an acronym for Beijing Shenzhou Rodia

Oops I was mistaken. Either way still a great carbon helmet for the price.

Seeing as this has been brought back up I just wanted to note that I ended up buying a Black Armor helmet, and it is awesome.

If you want a great helmet for an even better deal, and want to support a fellow racer, it's the way to go.

Side note: Black Armor Helmets appear to not be made in the US. It seems they are sourced from a Chinese manufacturer, BSR Helmets, and distributed under the Black Armor brand name in the U.S. through a partnership with Texas Rallysport, LLC.

I think you're going to be very hard pressed to find any U.S. based helmet manufacturers. Perhaps there are some custom/small production guys out there, but they're likely very expensive. As long as you've got a Snell SA and/or FIA rating you're gonna be fine. And really, good luck finding many products that are solely sourced and manufactured in the U.S. We live in a globalized economy, it's just he way things work.

Best Helmet on the market is Arai.

That said Bell are now made in Bahrain, the rest are mostly made in China.

(I work Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies and sell Helmets every day.)

Surprised to see this post come back from the dead. I ended up getting a Bell Sport Mag helmet last year. It's been great for Autocross.
