p0462 code
this morning I started my car to a p0462 code I just recently put cat less headers in so idk if that's why i don't think that would cause it. Anybody know or have any idea on this?
|
Quick search states it's from a bad fuel level sensor. But it also said low fuel can sometimes set the code off and before changing anything, fill up and clear the code and see if it comes back.
Don't remember if others here have had this code. Did you run the gas tank dry by chance? |
I recently got this code as well. Did you change out the fuel pump?
|
Did not change out fuel pump but I did put a gallon of 100 octane to try to bring my gas grade up since I had crapy gas and logged some knock thinking that was what it might have been tank was almost full to the max so I cleared code on my open flash and we will see what happens fuel system is still stock.

I've had this code recently as well, thought it was from bad gas.
|
I gotten the p0462, when I installed my headers from Openflash and flashed my car to Stage 2, it cleared but 5 days later it came back. My fuel gauge still works fine and I don't see how this is so. I disconnect both oxygen sensors to see if I could pop the same fault code and I completly had different DTC codes. I haven't yet change my gas yet and it could be bad fuel sending the fuel sensor a wrong signal. I'll keep you updated when I change a different fuel brand.

Recently just got this code again after filling up with E85.

any update on any of you that got the code and actually had to take action on fixing something?
I have gotten the code 3 times now in the span of 1 week. I usually don't let the car get way way empty, but when I filled up my tank from a very low fuel level about a week ago, I saw the first CEL the morning after. I keep erasing it with my open flash tablet, turning off the car, turn back on and am annoyed with having to drive the car with that "dead throttle, weak rpm, stalling when coming to a stop in neutral sensation" while the ECU re-learns itself. If so, what did you guys need to fix or replace, or did you guys wait it out and it ended up resolving itself? |

I normally use the tablet to read boost/oil temp/AFR. And I made it a bad habit to leave my tablet connected to the car. Whether i was driving or not. Lately I've been driving without the tablet at all. And I've been noticing the code not coming up anymore. I'll try using the tablet here every other day just to experiment. And sure enough the code will come back. Just my initial findings, as I'm trying to isolate what the hell is making the code come up before I start replacing parts. oddly enough my fuel gauge works perfectly fine so my assumption so far is it could've been something in my tune which I've already talked to Shiv about. Or the bad connections somewhere between my tablet and my car might be throwing stuff off. |

I've actually been plugging mine in every time I drive just to have the data showing. I'll try running the tune without it plugged in for awhile and see if it pops back up but so far it hasn't come back. Also I noticed my AC stopped working about 20 miles before the code came up. Not sure if that has any relation but it happened.. |
Anyone ever figure out what happened here? I'm having the same issues right now. Got a P0137 code yesterday, cleared it and all was good. But this morning when I drove to work the slip and the ABS lights came on and when I had a chance I read a P0462 code. When I started the car back up to drive home, the code was gone but I still had the throttle dead spot and my AC isn't working.
EDIT: Just went out and checked it again, I did have the P0462 code again. I cleared it and the AC seemed to be working again. A little more background also, I've been running a cat-less header for almost a year now, and I've been on E85 since winter, both with zero issues until now. |
