[B is for Build] BRZ resurrection build

Welcome to my BRZ build thread!

Im actually moving this thread from another site to ft86club, so youll see 3 posts and then be all caught up!

I got this car at auction, pretty rough. Im learning new stuff about it every day and planning different things for the build.

Its a 2013 limited edition. Unfortunately its a 6spd automatic, but it does have paddle shifters and all the options.

Ill start with some pictures from the auction yard.

Heres last week when i took delivery

Heres where the real bad news set in, if you notice, the engine is higher on the left side than the right :(

I popped the bumper off pretty quick to get a little better view of the damage

Heres a quick little video of the front end end teardown. I got it down to the frame, found out its a little extra banged up. In the end i got alot of space opened up.
I need to get under the car and figure out why the engine is unbalanced before i decide if im going to take the frame to a shop and get it pulled and straightened.

Funny damage i found that was repaired from the previous owner, looks like hes heard of drift stitching

Sad electrical damage :( ill need to find a diagram of this and replace all the relays.

Thats all i got for now. More to come soon.

Quick small update for everyone.

I got a new jack ( since my other car is on my other one -_- ) this first pic shows where i think the frame is pushing up the motor. I think this part bent in and is pushing the left side of the motor up, or at least i hope.

Here you can see some frame damage and not damage, the 2 circles up top are not damaged parts, which is a good sign, it looks like everything from the subrame back is not all bent up.
The lower part is pushing the passenger side control arm back, which has got the wheel and all the steering geometry screwed up.

Heres a second view of the same problem area

So the plan now is to find a local shop that can pull these parts back straight and get an estimate. Ill call around to a few shops tomorrow and check back in with any updates.

Small update, i was able to find a shop to pull the frame back into place and do an alignment. Ill hear back tomorrow if its the frame that is holding the left side of the motor too high, or if its a broken motor mount or something like that. I met the guy today thats going to be doing the work on my car and he seems like a cool guy and has a full shop so one way or another i expect the car to come back next week with a straight frame and a motor sitting level.

Heres a few pics of the car being loaded up. Once i hear back from the shop saying its for sure fixable, its time to start the fun part of ordering parts.

Sorry its been so long since the last update. My car was at a frame straightening shop and it took a while for different parts to get in.

Once i heard the car was able to be fixed, i started ordering parts and decided if the motor is fatally .

Some things i ordered:
FRS front bumper and fog lights
New black housing headlights
Hood
Pass Fender
Rocket Bunny v1 Widebody kit
18x10 wheels and tires
Performance Radiator
AC Condenser
AC Fan

and a buncha misc parts for the repairs, and ill go through installing all those things once i get there.

The car came back from the frame shop in pretty good condition.

Had to have it towed home once again :( hopefully the last time its on a tow truck

You can see the shop cut the front lower bar crossmember so ill be welding some support bars between there pretty soon.

But overall im really happy with out straight things turned out, im actually not expecting too many headaches getting this thing rebuilt

Today i went down to the hardware store and got some materials.
1in angle iron to rebuild the front core support and support the lower cross member.
3in PVC pipe to build a ghetto air intake for the time being
10ft of 2in steel pipe to build a new bumper "crash bar"
and some wood to help out with the mocking up process.

Should be a fun time

Ill film and post up a video of me rebuilding the core support.

Were the springs in good condition? Maybe you can sell it for a quick buck!
