is this it for N/A?

ive been a first gen frs owner and have most of the n/a parts as you can see in my signature.... The car is fun and decently fast but id think by now there would be more N/A parts to surpass the 200whp without e85??????
im a bit disapointed that an old rsx type s with just headers is faster than our cars and id love to see at least a 220-240 range WHP N/A ....:(

Unfortunatly arround the 200whp (30 whp gain) mark is about it even with custom tuning and top of the line simple bolt on mods. mabe 210whp and even adding e85 doesnt give much of a jump if your already on good 93 petrol and good quality mods. the orange dyno line above is e85

It appears thats arround the limits of the flow or volumetric efficiency of the engine in stock form ie withour heads cams intake manifolds increasing compression ratio ect

Their is a guy here @celek who is embarking on a high output na build but it sure looks like it going to dent the bank balance and build still in progress.

if you want more without spending a fortune you will need boost or niteros.

You'll blow the welds on your intake.

:D

Thanks for the mention @steve99 I think the biggest downfall to our engines is the intake manifold and the exhaust ports with cams. I had a phone conversation with @Element Tuning and they have told me that a big valve intake valve for NA form seems to do more damage than good.
These engines are set up with really light internals and a great intake port design. I mean you can almost see the whole valve looking into the port.

Long intake runners add TQ and shorter = More top end power if you have the velocity.

So problems with a NA build.
Custom parts, everyone takes the easy route with FI.
Custom parts = heavier = parasitic power loss
CAMS... Will someone please develop a CAM!!!(Except the factory piston can not be used)
After 3 years no company has yet to port flow a damn head in this industry... REALLY! WTF???
Support PERIOD!
I have to sit here and beg companies to take my money and make me parts, um herro?

I should have just LS3 swapped would have been done already

Can you verify that? It seems like the limit of flash and headers was about 200whp on the old RSX.

The RBC manifold was the part that brought HP up to the 220-240whp range.

It should also be noted that max power was developed around 8,000 rpm in both instances, so getting more revs at of the same displacement certainly account for a significant power difference.

If a RSX beat you their is something else going on. I would spit a RSX out no problem. I have trailered mustangs challengers and a list of other cars at the track.
I suggest calling Delicious Tuning for a STG 2 tune with a PPE header that will solve 99% of your problems.....

No disrespect intended

In for an LSX engine swap, go for it

Bigger valves is a bad thing for NA? Is it just because the stock valves are plenty big?

Just repeating what I have been told. Head flows very well at its current state if you open up the valves too much you lose velocity, good for FI not so much for NA. This is not the first builder to tell me this. I have 2 others that agree for this platform.

So what would you do then? Leave the intake ports alone and polish the exhaust port? I'm just asking because I'm going to be putting an engine back together. Not doing anything to it, but if I have the heads off then maybe I can have it polished.

At least clean up any casting flash.

You have to balance velocity and mass.

I'm okay with the velocity dropping, if the total mass of air being displaced is still larger.

Dont forget the fa20 doesn't have variable lift like the k20 that is a significant difference.
