I am Going to Try it - Soylent

First off, let me say a few things....

1. I know this isn't the answer to a perfect diet
2. I am a bit on the larger side and spend a lot of time in the gym (5'10" - 220lbs - 32/33" waist)
3. I am looking to maintain my strength and lose a bit of fat
4. I am going to supplement my own protein in with it (whey isolate, going to add like 100-200G a day)
5. I want to support a company which is trying new things
6. I probably will add some solid food, here and there, but am going to give this an honest try for 2 weeks

https://www.soylent.com/

This morning I had a shake along with a protein shake...taste was decent. Nothing offensive. Ill report back here as the days progress.

Heavy leg/glutes workout today, should be interesting to monitor energy and strength levels.

Tried that shit back in the day when it was still in development, hopefully they got the formula nailed down because the regular stuff was garbage IMO. Honestly, I'd say you are better off creating your own recipe tailored to your needs. You can find starter recipes and walkthroughs on the soylent forum https://diy.soylent.com/recipes and you'll save a ton of money and honestly have a better, more custom product.

I already poo a lot... if I tried this, I would poo even more!

If it tasted good and not leave a cardboard-like aftertaste, I would give it a try. Free samples? :D

Awww, that may be the nicest thing you've ever said to me Tcoat! Most people that know me tend to say the same thing, and I honestly can't wait to gain a few years. Hollywood lied, your 20's are bullshit! I can't wait for the day where no one gives me shit for having an evening in with an Old Fashioned, cigar, good book, and my dog.

Not really, since you are getting more or less %100 of your daily requirement, things are pretty smooth sailing.

Wait, there's a company producing dietary supplements with the name "Soylent"? Are you kidding me? WOW. As TCoat and Special K said "It's People"!!!!

My initial fear is that I am going to just get sick of the taste.

Long-term my fear is losing weight.

You can always mix it up by throwing in stuff like berries, vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter, banana, etc.

I strongly recommend keeping out of the path of garbage trucks when on foot now.

i just stick to fruits/veggies, no extra sugar, no fried foods, and try to keep wheat to a minimum, one small cheat meal a week to keep me going

go the gym 5 days a week, usually try to do 45 minutes to an hour on the elliptical
try to do another 30 minutes doing some weights

ive lost 26 lbs since feb

edit: i know alot of people dont like doing this, but i count my calories
myfitnesspal is an awesome app!
use it daily! sets goals for my target weight loss, tells me if i go over my intake of fats etc etc
