Will it work? Yes. Will it work well? No. You wont see the full benefit with out a tune. You will probably get a check engine light after about 100km as well. I think the is P0420 (or something like that) it has to do with not having a main cat.

I see that the headers are too expensive and plus you are likely to get the CEL if you dont do a tune at the same time :S.

Im just got my catback and catless frontpipe so im just going to add an overpipe and then just call it a day with the exhaust work.

I thought there was one company that perfected the no cel header?

First mod I did was the headers. I chose Tomei UEL. Installed easily and without a tune didn't throw a CEL at all. Definitely opened up the motor, increased throttle response as well as that rumbly boxer sound we all adore. You will get WAY more from a header than any other exhaust component IMO. Tomei are titanium, well built, and, to me, are well worth the 700ish you will spend on them.

I think FT86 speed factory has a catted UEL header that won't throw a code. But I might be mistaken, hopefully someone can confirm either way.

No CEL with the Ptuning header, even with no cat in the over pipe.

I'm looking into getting some headers soon, but there are a few out there. I like borla headers, but I won't knock any other ones. Just looking for some helpful advice.

We just released some really nice Unequal headers for a good price. Let me know if you want more info.

$475 plus ship. O.P is extra, here is a pic

Here's a compilation of different headers and their dyno charts: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31555

It's hard to compare, since they're all from different places and have different mods, tunes, etc., but it's a good starting point.
