No Pre-order? How long till I can get one?

Hey guys,

Just wondering not really sure if this has been discussed already. If I have yet to pre-order one, realistically how long will it be till I can just walk into the dealer and pick one up for MSRP? I know this is probably heavily geographically influenced so specifically for the socal area. Anyone know how dealer inventories are looking?

Last time I called the ones around Costa Mesa they pretty much had nothing (this was over a month ago though).

I walked into a dealer on the 8th with no pre-order, they swapped a car they had with another dealer for the color I wanted and picked up my car on the 12th, so you can do it right now assuming the dealers near you haven't sold the BRZ's they got in already.

Check cars.com or any of the other many sites. This has been discussed, a lot. Search.

Sorry about that, first time buying a car. Didn't realize there was a search for new cars. I've just been blindly calling dealers.

Depends on what you're looking for. Like others have said, check various car selling sites to see if there is any for sale on there.

If you're looking for a Silver Premium Auto, there's one for sale near me.

If you did not pre-order and want a BRZ you can expect to pay above MSRP
at least till the Supply/Demand curve level out a bit.

yeah thats what I've been seeing. hopefully the curve will level out soon. I can't justify paying thousands more for lack of patience :sigh:

I got mine without a pre-order for MSRP, and anyones i've seen in the New England area were MSRP, I think it's just cause you live in California and the dealers out there are douche bags and mark up everything.

It depends on the color apparently. Someone ordered last week but my pre-order is taking longer because mine is red. Stupid way to do business and this will be my only Subaru if I decide to wait until October.

It took me about 2 days, of which I only spent a couple of hours total looking online and making calls, to find the color and type that I wanted. I made a thread about it, here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8426

And I got it for $200 BELOW MSRP, approx. 100 miles away.

Good Luck!

I found my BRZ in about a day of looking, but I'm driving really far to pick it up. If you're willing to take a drive you can probably find one just as fast or even faster.
