Mysterious clicking sound coming from rear

So after a recent trackday (I spun off the track) I've been hearing a weird clicking noise coming from the passenger rear of the car. Its definitely a clicking sound that is pretty rapid. I comes and goes independent of the road. In the afternoon when I get off work the sound can best be described as small pebbles bouncing around (This sound is significantly quieter than the clicking sound). The sound also does not more quiet when i put the rear seat up.

I've already tried the rear deck pop fix and I lubed basically every possible nook and cranny in the trunk.
I've double checked the tightness on the rear passenger coil and everything connected to the LCA and lubed everything down there.

Any ideas on what it could be? I'm out of ideas.

Haven't had this issue myself, but I've heard the axels are pretty fragile

I had a clicking that sounded like plastic hitting something in the trunk. What it ended up being was my bumper moving in the wind. Rally armour mud guards would flap at speed and cause the bumper make the noise. Fixed it by adding a little blue loctite in the bumper seam.

Maybe that'll help you in some way, but it drove me nuts for months before figuring it out.

Rear axle. Either loose axle nut, or it is going bad.

I kind of have a same noise and it's not been too long since I had it. But do you have the sound when you're actually driving? It could also be the CV Joint.. check on youtube about bad CV joint sound and see if that's it.

If you're hearing more noise when you turn left or right then it could be the cv joint as well. I only hear ticking/knocking/squeaking sound when I back up to my driveway which is slightly inclined but I don't hear any sound while I'm moving forward either making left or right turn. I have about 35k miles on coilover and LCA.

Rear axle or axle nut. I had an axle nut fail and make a click noise. I took the nut off, re torqued it, and it didn't go away. I took it into the dealer, and they warranty replaced the nut and it went away. The nuts are too soft and will warp.

Anyone know what size the bolt is? 30mm or 32mm socket?
Mine has been doing this for 2 years, keep going back to Subaru for them to sort it, but keeps doing it, going to just fix it myself but need to go get a socket, rather get the right one than a few to make sure.. (I did measure it with a tape measure, said 30mm but you know)

You will need a 32mm socket. As others have mentioned, its recommended that you replace the axle nuts instead of just re-torquing them.

Cheers for that. Hoping that the only Subaru parts place near me is open today. (I guess I could go to Toyota..)
Last time Subaru fixed it, they just retorqued it and staked it again, . Now after reading, it should have been replaced.

I usually get my parts from Toyota since I have near my work. I've found that they usually have cheaper prices than Subaru (for the same part!)

You wouldn't know what the torque settings are for the bolt? Going through the manual now, but its taking me ages and frustrating me :\

Im also having the clicking sound problem coming out of the rear. I don't know is it the rear axles or not. This sound started to occur after the recent track day.

At first, I thought It was some loosen nuts, LSD, or sway bars knocking exhaust parts. All those things turned out to be fine after having mechanics to look up.
Please let me know if this is the sound indicating axle going bad or not ?

Thx guys
