Traction light came on for a sec.

Did a quick search and came up with nothing. A slight backstory, When my car is cold I will OCASIONALLY notice it run a little choppy. When I start driving it seems to stumble for a minute before resuming normal. I just let it run for 5 minutes before driving and dont notice any issues.

The other night my buddy at work wanted to hear my exhaust after my header installation. I let it run for prolly ten minutes and left work. The car was not up to operating temp so im obviously not gonna beat on it. I was gonna accelerate normal to about 4.5k to let him hear it. Around 4k the traction control kicked in, limited power and the light flashed. When I let off the gas and shifted to the next gear it went away and I haven't had any issues since. I will scan for codes on my lunch break and report back but I do not have a check engine light. Is this a safety feature of some sort? Or a possible problem?

On a side note my car will make a click when starting in first. Makes me think axle but its just one click. I havent had time to further look into it yet. Car has 19481 miles.

Mods that matter : Open flash UEL header, stage 2 tune running on E85, stock intake. Thanks a ton guys.

The wheels started to spin, trac took over. Seems normal. If it was at night the roads just could of been cool enough to cause traction loss or could of been on a paint strip.

I can imagine. What state are you in?

Traction light came on for a sec.

Wisconsin. Right on the border to Illinois. I've been getting really paranoid about this click im hearing. I'll buy axles if it comes down to it. I don't wanna go through all the effort to go back to stock in hopes of it being covered by warranty.

I blame Beloit.

I don't believe you have anything to worry about ...... unless the CV joint clicks more than once .....:)

Actually I think that parts for this car are cheap, specially at the high rate people are selling their stock parts left and right with very low mileage.

More than once I've thought about buying some of the normal wear items from other users and storing, even if I might not need them until years down the road.

Getting parts for my 12yo VW... now that can be an expensive task.

I suppose it's how you choose to look at it. I've owned what I would consider disposible cars up until this point. (Turbo Hondas by the handful, turbo/nitrous probes) since I didn't plan on keeping them for long periods of time due to rust or whatever other reason I bought cheap parts that didn't need to last long. Buying quality shit is a new experience for me. :)

One of your tires must be 1.5 psi off

Josh Ehlert 06-25-2015 04:47 AM

Lol funny you mention that. Damn tire pressure light is on. My traction control is off 90% of the time so I rarely see that damn light.
