Gold Plus Warranty must be transferred to next buyer
 

I got my '13 BRZ from a good seller in Ohio 4 weeks back. The seller had paid for a 7-year 100,000 mile Gold Star warranty which was assumed to be transferred to the next seller. 3 weeks after I got the car, I was reading through all the documents the seller gave me (like I said, good seller and gave me everything from the original window sticker to service receipts), I noticed that the gold star warranty would need to be transferred to the next private buyer. Procedure is attached in the image.

Basically, the seller would have to go to a dealership, pay $35 and fill out a warranty transfer form WITHIN 30 DAYS OF SALE. Also, if the seller wished to cancel the extended warranty, the company would give back a portion of the money paid based on miles and age. This way, the original warranty is intact while the extended warranty is gone.

Just felt like sharing.

Correct, and it can only be transferred if purchased from a private seller. I submitted a transfer request by mail around 3 weeks ago (it said $75 was required to transfer Gold Plus Warranty). Still waiting to hear back.
