Width of stock seats?

Can someone measure the stock FRS seats for me at the widest point in the seat and the shoulder area?

Or, conversely, what's the widest aftermarket seat that will fit?

I can't measure myself, as I don't have the FRS yet and getting a seating position that fits is a deciding factor.

I'm considering the Corbeau A4 wide with a shaved seat base, as based on the literature, it looks like I will fit and there are no dealers where I live to test other seats like Recaros, etc.. Corbeau has not installed an A4 wide in an FRS, yet, so they weren't able to help.

I have a 38" waist and 21" across in the seat and wide in the shoulders, so everything that I know will fit the FRS is either too small or on the hairy edge of fitting. Also trying to gain more headroom as I'll need about 2" to fit a helmet I think.

And before someone asks, yes, I searched.

Why don't you just go to a dealer and sit in one? Best way to find out if it will be comfortable for you.

About 20" (outside width); 11" (inside width), on my 3013 FR-S.

Like suggested, you really should go and sit in one.

If the bolsters "pinch" you, a simple seat cushion would bring you out from the seat to make them feel wider.... :)

I have. They are not, hence my question.

I do not fit in the stock seats, the side bolsters and shoulder area particularly, which is why I need to replace them in order to use the car.

Now that you have numbers, shop away! It's too bad I like the stock seats, else I would be a kid in a candy store!

"Subaru BRZ seat width" yielded this in a few seconds:

And none of that measures the seat itself, so isn't useful when trying to determine if a replacement aftermarket seat will fit into the car.

If you are trying to fit a larger aftermarket seat, the usual questions start:

1) Helmet, I presume for track? What cage do you have? Harness?
2) Fixed back or reclinable?
3) What is your height and weight?

Perhaps the better question you want answered is "what is the interior room available for aftermarket seats?" As it stands, measuring the stock seats won't really tell you how much room there is to fit aftermarket seats unless you also measure clearances to the door panels.
