Moving to DC(Thread formally knows as "Gas Prices")
I just found out I was accepted to American University & I'm thinking about heading that way.
I was wondering what everyone is paying for gas & if there is access to 92, 93 or e85? Also, where should I live? |

Nice. I'm tired of paying $4.19 for 91
93 is $7.95 at VP stations. |

What's the current price for 93?

There are around 10 E85 stations all around northern DC/Annapolis/Baltimore area. You can Google up the list pretty easy. |
God I can't wait to get out of LA. My commute to work is 64 miles each way & paying $4.19 a gallon for 91 oct pondwater sucks! Grad school here I come... unless I get into USC.
|
Now I've got to find a place to live where I won't get shot & where I can securely park my little blue lady. :D
(I'm more worried about parking) LOL |

Public transportation (i.e.: the Metro) has pretty decent service, all things considered. Whenever I look at a place I prioritize proximity to a metro station. It's a lot more sane to take the metro at rush hour, depending on where you're coming from, than to drive. I live maybe 15-20 minutes driving away from downtown when there isn't traffic, but when there is, it's easily an hour, hour and a half.

I've only lived in Seattle, Miami, and LA. What is this public transportation that you speak of?

Asides from Georgetown, most of DC is within a couple of blocks from a Metro station. Weekend single-tracking is really my biggest complaint; that, and the occasional station fire. |
Easy, don't drive your car between 0600-0900 and 1500-1900
|
Another question: how are the car laws out there? Is it as bad as Commiefornia?
