These look interesting but I really dont know much about suspension and wheels, I was wondering if these springs would fit wheels of 18x8 +35 ?
Im still unsure of tire sizes and am kind of interested in camber. :iono:

Say hi to your bumpstops for me.

Your stock struts will not be able to handle those springs. I tried those on my LGT with little success. And with the BRZ having even less shock travel, it'll be worse.

Something with a less-severe drop, or wait until you can purchase some inserts for your stock strut bodies. Maybe Koni will eventually make some. Or bite the bullet and get some coilovers.

For starters.

S-Techs were one of, if not THE, worst springs to put on the Impreza. I'm not sure these will be any different.

Ive been running coils on all my cars for about 15 years now and never had an issue. This time im going for coilovers

Do you mean to say with a more conservative drop (like the Tanabe that have been mentioned elsewhere) the stock struts would be alright? Or still not last nearly as long as with stock springs?


edit: asking out of actual curiosity. I always preached that lowering springs meant needing to change out the struts too but I'm often overly careful.

just cut the factory bumpstops in half, or get some full sleeved coil overs

The Eibach Pro-Kit are always some great springs, generally enhancing the handling of your vehicle. They won't look slammed but it will give it a great stance.

What a lot of people miss out on is using cheaper sub $1000 coil overs, your really not getting added handling unless you properly align and corner balance. Sure you can get them stiff, and 'feel' like its on rails, but in reality handling limits would be compromised. Either get a solid spring-shock combo or quality coil overs.

Racecomp Engineering springs are going to be the ones to get.

S-techs are for looks only. So if you want to be a hellaflush kid, ride on the bumpstops, and blow out your shocks, by all means get them.

If you get coils, just pony up and get the car corner balanced. It's not that much money, and if you're after the drop for handling, you should be doing this anyway.

A friend runs tein s tech on his AP1 s2000 for four years on stock struts. Runs just fine. Has maybe an inch and half drop. On volks ce28. 17x9 in the rear 17x8 in the front. He road races with them. Says he loves the way they handle. I have driven the car and I can vouch for that. I plan on ordering a set for myself for the time being. Maybe go coilovers in a few years down the line.

I currently have Tein S techs on my 350z with stock shocks. It gives the car about a .6 inch drop considering how low the Z already comes. Its been on there for about a year and everything is still running great. Rides smooth too.

There's always a risk in blowing your shocks but since they were made for the stock setup I probably wouldn't worry too much about them. Everyone has different experiences with different cars.

I'm no guru but I highly doubt 18x8 wheels would affect your springs so you should be good on that.
