What is it like driving this car during the winter time? How bad is it?

2 words. Snow tires. They are a good idea for most cars, but absolutely mandatory with this car.

I did not have my snows on in time for the first snow-fall last winter and it was like driving on marbles.

Otherwise, don't drive like a douche and you should be fine.

I didn't get stuck once last winter.

I live north of Bolton and we get hammered with snow every year. The second big snow-fall last year, the snow was up past the bottom of my front bumper. Somehow, I still made it out of my UPHILL driveway, and all the way out of my subdivision, without getting stuck. I basically plowed the snow in front of me. I was crazy impressed.

I can not overstate how much fun this car is to slide around in the snow as well. BE RESPONSIBLE though...I almost got booked a couple of times throwing some donuts in random parking lots.

Snow tires and don't drive like a tool and you'll be fine.

Snow tires. Drive smart.

2WD, low ground clearance. It sucks in the snow.

Get winter tires and it'll be adequate. If you want to be king of the road, get 4WD and lots of ground clearance.

Honestly probably the best car I've ever driven in winter



Mainly because of heated seats.

If you mainly drive in a wintery climate, get some good rims with the snow tires as your semi permanent tire set.

If you don't catch a ton of snowfall, just use some cheap steel wheels with snow tires during harsh snowfall as a second tire set apart from your performance tires.

It handles great in winter very predictable too ive had a civic and a legacy so far this is the best handling in winter but a quality set of winter tires is a must I myself opted for studs too.
The grip at a red light might take a little longer but the VSC does a great job of keeping you straight. But obviously the lower ride height makes it a challenge when the roads are not plowed but not enough to drop the idea of driving it in the winter. We only get about a solid 2 weeks where the roads are actually covered in snow here in Montreal anyways.

This car is great in the winter. As others have said, get some good dedicated winter tires, and don't drive like a tool. Personally, I use Bridgestone Blizzaks (205/55/16) and cheap steel wheels. I have been pleasantly surprised by the depth of snow that this car can handle.

The car is not a good winter car. However with snow tires (and not driving like an idiot) you'll get around fine unless your area sees deep snow and is rarely plowed.

On the other hand, the car can be a FUCKTON of fun in the snow. That makes it a *fantastic* winter car, as long as you don't brick it.

Me: Hey daughter, there's a lot of snow on the ground, want to go do some donuts.

Daughter: Sure, why not.

... Drive to empty parking lot....

Daughter: Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
