Raven blacked out side marker before and after

Hi thought you'd like to see the Raven black FRS with the front side markers blacked out.

Calidrifter 06-17-2012 10:29 PM

Paint or tint?

Roadstercycle 06-17-2012 10:57 PM

Actually it is paintable tint. I ordered a set of white markers and thought that's just as bad. So i went out and found the tint paint at Pep Boys. $12.00. better than $107.00 for white. Tried to buy black from carson Toyota but they said the cost would be $199.00 because the company in japan buys the stock marker lights and sprays them with black tint. Figured I'd bypass the Japanese spray painters and do it myself. Big difference now, I couldn't stand the yellow. Stood out like a sore thumb.

Does it still reflect? Maybe take a picture with some flash?

And damn 2bills for those black crystal ones? That's crazy.

I usually hate blacked out lights but that looks great. I like how they blend in and are less noticeable. I think this would only work with black on black.

I don't like the yellow ones either.

When you said white markers, did you mean the clear ones? I'm liking the clear ones, not so sure about blacked out ones. On a Raven at least.

did you have to remove them?

any tips on how to remove?

i heard they break easily

Asphaltfrs1 06-17-2012 11:34 PM

By any chance did you get your raven in dch Toyota of torrance

Roadstercycle 06-18-2012 01:50 PM

I did get my FRS at DHC of Torrance. To remove the side markers I remembered when I went through the owners manual it said how to do it. So got the manual out and it showed me how. Pretty easy, just don't force it.

looks 1000x times better

Roadstercycle 06-18-2012 01:54 PM

Jayp, I did mean the clear side markers not white.

Roadstercycle 06-18-2012 01:58 PM

Thanks Sall, I think so too, the yellow was driving me crazy, looked very out of place. I'm happy now and just waiting to be able to buy a Five axis duck bill spoiler.

Calidrifter, they still reflect. In fact I had to turn the flash off to get the second picture because it would not show the black out, just the reflect. Very cool how the tint worked.
