Damnit.

To me it looks like the rear started to come out and he tried to correct, which sent him straight off the corner and into the wall. Right before he straightened out, it seems like his rate of turn suddenly increased sharply. It was a very brief change though.

Or I'm wrong. I'm probably wrong.

Speculation is a stuck throttle... normally through that section of the Porsche Curves you'd lift slightly in a GT car.

If you watch the in cockpit video it looks like a much more glancing blow to me then the last view gives. I think it has to do with the curve in the wall you can't see on the "coming at you" view.

In either case, OUCH!

Oh no doubt it is far worse than it looks. My first impression was superficial at best. When he headed for that wall (with each end) I expected to see much, much worse damage is all.

Yeah, that made me cringe. Would have been a neck breaker if it weren't for the Hans device.

you can hear him downshift and lock the brakes too, wonder if something else wasn't wrong and he was trying to bleed as much speed as possible before hitting the wall.
