Best place for Subaru service in Montgomery County, MD?

I have used the search function and read a few threads on this topic but those threads haven't garnered that many responses and there haven't been replies in a while.

From a lot of Googling/Yelp searches it seems like the Fitzgerland Subaru and Toyota service departments in Montgomery County give pretty bad service.

Can anyone recommend a good service shop in Montgomery County?

Also, am I correct in my understanding that I do NOT need to get my BRZ serviced at a dealer in order to maintain warranty?

Thanks so much for any info!

Any opinions on Andrewtech for service?

I hear they are very Subaru oriented for repairs. Have not used them. They are a sponsor for CDC (Capital Driving Club) and believe that some members have used them for service.

I'm glad your searches gave you the correct impression of Fitzgerald... I was going to warn you off of them anyway. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

My buddy has bought parts for his STI from them, and I've been inside their shop a couple of times. They're definitely Subaru people. I can't speak to their work, but just judging by the employee cars, they're definitely fans.

I would also like to confirm that we don't need to get the car serviced at a dealer to maintain the warranty?

I haven't had a need to get my BRZ serviced, but I wouldn't take my car to Fitz to get air in the tires. This, despite the fact that we bought our Outback from them. For me, first impressions is important and the lot where they stage you car is a train wreck by itself.

I have visited Andrewtech and wouldn't have a problem taking my car there.

Ended up going to Andrewtech. Definitely had to wait a while but the employees are all Subaru fans and the reason I currently trust them is they seem to do a lot of work for people who wouldn't trust their cars to anyone - was told they do one turbo install a day. Paid ~$70 for 6,000 mile service on my 2015 BRZ. Will probably do next service here as well over trusting a dealer if they continue to offer good comparable deals like the one I was able to take advantage of :)

Andrewtech rocks. :party0030:

I have (selling) a 2007 Impreza 2.5i with 167k. Good people. Been taking it to Andrewtech since my warranty expired. They do exactly what you want (without trying to sell you unnecessary crap), in a decent time, for a decent price.

Having Andrewtech install my AOS here next week, heard nothing but good things about them from several people.

We really should have a sticky thread stating service places worth going in the DMV. Especially dealerships where we might need to take the cars for warranty work. I know some good places to take our cars for regular service, but for warranty work. I have yet to find a dealership that has left a good impression on me.
