RACESENG X PENSKE | The Ultimate Racing Shocks
We've been working with Penske Racing shocks for the past couple months to create several shock packages for the FR-S/BRZ. The shock packages will range from an entry level single adjustable to a four-way adjustable system.
We are early on in the process but I wanted to start sharing some of the progress. Subscribe and stay tuned for more information! We just started machining the Penske custom rear top mounts. These will allow the Penske spring perch to sit up into the chassis giving some extra rear stroke travel! We are checking the critical fit of the spherical bearing bore on the first piece. http://www.raceseng.com/wp/wp-conten...-shock-top.jpg I'll take some more machining progress shots tomorrow! |
Cool; it will be interesting to see what you guys come up with. Do you think you'll include your CasCams or another adjustable top hat as part of the coilover, or keep them separate?
|
awesome!

Interesting.

We need pricing!

In for updates
|
Sorry but i wont be buying anything made on that brand of equipment you are using...
j/k I am a machinist |
sick!
|
I like where this is going! Any chance you have extremely rough guesstimates on price ranges?
|
will you be providing an entire coilover assembly option or just the shocks?
|
Tell me more.....

http://www.raceseng.com/media/wysiwyg/2009-1.jpg We've been scratching and crawling ever since trying to upgrade our equipment but acquiring that kind of capital without large manufacturing contracts is very difficult. We use what we have and try to get the absolute most out of it! |
hoooooooooooly jebus, my wallet hurts. My suspension squeaks at the sight of this

subscribed.
i do love my Koni coilovers, buuuuut..... |
I'm curious to see how the finished product will compare against others in its price range. I'm assuming Penske is custom valving the shocks to the spring rate?
|
Very interested in what you guys come up with here and what pricing you will offer. I'm in the market for some suspension upgrades and I was thinking of going the Ohlins route.
However, if you guys can provide something similar or better in the same price range as the Ohlins, i'm all for it... Subbed. |

Will buyers be able to specify spring rates? Will you be offering different valving for different spring rates?

|
Why don't I know abso everything about these coilovers yet? :brokenheart:

Just when I thought I'd narrowed down my suspension choices...

Suspension is the only mod left! Really. No really. :)
I will probably need a new set of tires next year, but those come out of the "consumables" budget. |

Just hope this kit isn't available in black or white and you'll be okay. -alex |

For the 1- and 2-way systems, I would estimate somewhere between the price of the Ohlins R&T and RCE Clubsport, so $3-4.5K. Penske makes awesome stuff, but it's expensive. For instance, the FIGS/Penske 2-way for an IS350 is $4800. |
JRZ's 1431's are rediculous, probably what would be useful on nothing less than Evasive's pikes peak time attack car.
|
Sounds sick! I'll be anxiously awaiting news from you guys :)
