Auto AC on 10 series "acting up"

Call out to fellow 10 series owner, or monogram or RS1.0 owner. Does your Auto AC blow out warm air on regular basis above 63 on the display no matter AC/recirculation on or off?

Dropped off the car at dealer. Say they can't reproduce the issue and it's normal that it takes 10-15min to get cold. I drove the car for 10min from the dealer to work after picking it up. Set temp at 65 with both AC and recirc on. It was not very warm but definitely what I expect from 65. Anyone has the same issue?

Can't speak for the R.S1 with the auto AC but my regular old manual AC gets cold in under 2 minutes. I would not be happy at all if they told me 10 or 15 minutes was "normal".

That doesn't sound normal to me. My a/c gets cold in a few minutes in the Hawaiian heat of 86 - 90 degrees....Yuh, it's been hotter than hell lately....Take it back to the dealer!

My 10 series takes less than 2 minutes after sitting in the sun in 80-90 degree weather. I generally keep the AC on auto in mid 70's.

That's bullshit, take it to different dealer & avoid that one.

I'm cold all the time. *I always warms up my car first thou

I have found under hard acceleration it turns off the ac so that hot air will blow in the cabin but once you let off the gas it's cool as a cucumber.

Plug techstream in and see if the pump engages as specified or not... or else open the hood and look to see the AC clutch

What you're experiencing isn't happening on my 10 Series at all. I would go to a different dealership -seems easier for the current dealership to come up with a lame excuse than to actually figure it out and fix it under warranty.

Like everyone else said, a couple minutes for mine.

The compressor doesn't work well at idle either. Works well between 1500-ish RPM up to high-RPM cutout.

If I'm crawling along I downshift. If I'm stopped I hold the idle high.

10-15 minutes? What are they? Monks? Aint got time for that! Wouldnt wait a minute to blow cool air. Mine is within 30sec. Check pressure. Belt? :eyebulge:

On my 10 series, after a while the AC doesn't feel as cold because it automatically adjusts to the set temperature of 67 degrees. If you turn it to LO and leave it on automatic, does it get freezing cold?

Mine does get freezing cold at LO. Ironically, I can't reproduce the issue all the time. Yesterday, even at 60 (1 above LO), it was blowing slightly warm air. I drove the dealer right away, and the service manager was there to capture that precious moment with me. He agreed that didn't seem normal. I will bring it in as soon as the annoying clicking noise in the back is getting more frequent (yes mine has that rattling noise, AND IT COMES BACK after 1.5 years, because Subaru didn't wield the frame well enough).

The 10-15min they mentioned was for the AC blowing fully cold air when set at LO (you know they don't write you a full essay on the service report).

I am definitely looking into trading in for the new Miata.
