Spokane

Who's all in the Spokane area and what's it's like?

Relocating for work, happy for mountains :)

Your car will be fucking loved man. Snow in the winter hot in the summer. Live out in Spokane valley or liberty lake(low crime rates). Liberty lake is known for being harsh on modded cars but I haven't had an issue other than a "please don't drive like those Subaru kids" warning from the cops.

There's quiet a few car groups around town that do meets and cruises. Good lakes for cruises are Hayden Lake, Newman Lake(tight corners on this one), and Lake Coeur D'Alene.

Awesome info! Really appreciate the heads up.

Now how is traffic on i90 usually? Notice Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake are on the east side of the area. I'll be commuting west towards the air force base most business days as my new position is there... now are there any areas out that way that are similar to both the mentioned areas? I have no problem commuting from there but I doubt the wife would appreciate it if she ever has to drive out that way in the snow. Lol

Airway heights is a newer area. Lots of new homes going up. It's by the air force base and airport. The weather is shittier only because it's windier up there and it usually accumulates more snow.

You are so so so right. And now they're moving over to the FRS/BRZ

Subarus have become the staple of ricers as they can throw an exhaust on any boxer powered car and sound like they are 'cool'. In some ways it's actually worst than hondas, because it can happen to any subaru made in the last 3 decades. n/a imprezas, legacies, foresters, outbacks, wrx, sti, list goes on.

You gonna be moved by July 12th? We're having the NW meet on Jul 12th in Olympia.

Airways heights has Spokane Country Raceway right next to the Casino. I'll be out there in a couple weekends and it's a terrific track. So yeah, there's that. :)

When are you moving up here?

You'll be happy with the unlimited amount of twisties we have.

Be prepared to get surrounded by lifted trucks and muscle cars.

Freeman 06-10-2015 04:27 PM

And be prepared to have a diesel truck cover your car with coal.... Because they think it's funny I guess

And Monster Energy hats...

Green Monsters everywhere.

Omar, traffic jams do not exist in Spokane, especially in Airway Heights. The longest traffic you'll experience is the long ass line at the front gate during lunch hour from everyone coming back to work.

OmarGC 06-10-2015 07:58 PM

Lol at all the ricer/truck comments. Diesel guys probably won't like the "I support American jobs by buying Toyota trucks" sticker on my Tundra.

Track being close is awesome, any drastic elevation changes throughout the course?

But I won't be there for another 3 months, I'll have a little time before winter hits. Need to look into buying or renting a house... Requirements being: driveway without a speed bump for a curb or crazy inclines, 2 car garage, 3 bedrooms, not in the hood, not around a bunch of military members.
