If you are referring to the gray and black part. Looks like standard stuff to me. I want to say it is called wire loom... Can't remember the exact name. Just covers and protects wires. It has the cut so you can get at the wires and recover them.

It is a wire loom. Basically a plastic tube that slides over electrical wires to protect them. The slit is for easy install of loom.
That piece protects your MAP sensor wiring.

In case ya didn't get the memo :reposthorse: .......its "wire loom". Its a protective plastic casing/sleeve that protects part of the wire harness from premature wear and direct contact with heat. Your friend has the same, just feel 360* around his loom you'll find it.

we call that corrugated sleeving "sprag" however google searches for 'sprag' come up blank, probably a local slang term for it

thats the wire for the flux capacitor underneath the cover....car might drive normal....but you wont be able to time travel.

I would be terrified at what I would find by searching a word like "sprag" especially with Safe Search turned off!
