The negatives of a raceseng knob

Today i learned that parking my car for 2 hours in 90 degree weather makes it extremely hard to drive stick as specially if you own a Ashioko shift knob. I was in pain holding the knob for longer than three seconds. Totally worth it though/

I used to have an aluminum shift knob in black. it was a bad idea in the summer when it gets over 120F. I had it on for like two weeks then immediately got rid of it. love my current shift knob though.

Have had a few Raceseng knobs (standard steel Slammer, engraved steel Ashiko, now back to a Slammer with black finish this time). The steel Slammer and Ashiko got HOT in the summer. The Raceseng thermal bag is a nice idea, but it didn't really work well to keep the knob from heating up to lava temps in SoCal summers. The black finished Slammer gets much less hot, and seems to be liveable. I picked up another shift knob cover from Amazon just in case ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LUUJDYS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailp age_o00_s01"]this one[/ame]). It's much thicker and fits over the Slammer but doesn't zip. This should hopefully do the trick. Anyhoo, my $0.02.

Other than that, Raceseng weighted knobs rock.

I own a raceseng slammer. Love everything about it except in the extreme heat and cold.

I find the best "thermal bag" for the shift knob is a nice sock. For extra brownies point you could use the old iPod case aka fancy apple socks.

I have an old sunglass bag that came with my Oakleys a long time ago. I keep it in the small cubby ahead of the shifter. Works great for hot/cold!

shift faster haha

All bs aside, I have the same issue...I usually swap knobs(oh boy...) with the stock one when things start to get hot out here.

Or take the knob into work with me haha

I'll probably use a sock if this issue continues :laughabove::laughabove:

As long as you get the windshield tinted, it does take the edge off really hot days.

Get a shift knob cover! That and I drive with gloves and have Llumar Air80 in the front and Llumar CTX30 all around. No problems in the socal heat so far.
