Suspension Stiffness and Potholes
Does having a stiffer suspension reduce the durability of the suspension and control components?
Here in glorious Michigan when I drive down a poorly maintained road (aka, 90% of the roads) and the road has a rough surface, there are some significant bumps and jarring about. Everytime I drive on one of these I ask myself, "shit, am I ruining this car right now?" . . . or is the worst part about this the lack of comfort? I'm damaging my car no more than any other car on these rough road conditions? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks  |
It'll be harder on upper mounts (and eventually shock towers), but I don't think it would be a significant difference to either part unless you're running MUCH stiffer springs.
