motul 300v
Planning to run motul 300v 0w20 for track this weekend. What do you guys think about this oil is it ok to use on our platform or do I need to run thicker oil. I'm currently running motul 8100 0w20 and have run 1 track day without any issue is it worth switching from 8100 to 300?

8100 has a longer life. 300V withstands high temperatures better. Which one to use, it depends how often you plan to go to the track. Personally, in SoCal, I run 300V 0w20 in winter and 5w30 in summer, with a JR NA oil cooler, Koyo rad and vented hood. If I didn't any cooling mods, I'd probably run 5w30 all year. I do about a track day per month, plus 2-3 canyon runs. Usually change oil every 2-3 track days, or every 3 months, whatever happens first. YMMV.. |
