places you've been, or want to go

It's saturday night and i got nothing better to do except watch battle los angelos, and not study for my online class. Ive lived in the houston area my whole life and though ive been out of the country a hand full of times i had never been east of lake charles Lousiana until a few weeks ago when i took a spontaneous road trip to richmond VA to visit a friend. We were only there for a week so there was only time to go to D.C. and VA beach. The difference in people really wasnt too significant, perhaps because Virginia is still a southern state. In the city i did notice a lot of people with dogs, and more "hip"/young people. Also there seem to be a higher girl to guy ratio in D.C. and Richmond than there is here. I really enjoyed D.C. even though i was only there for 1 day. It had more of a "city" feel than some of the other majors cities that ive been to in texas, this maybe due to the metro system that they had there. i hope next year i will have time go back and visit even more states, specifically more northeast, and hopefully have time to drive the blue ridge parkway and then the pacific coast highway from CA to WA. just wondering where you guys have been or would like to go, and if there are any suggestions, stories, ideas that you would like to share?

Only real vacation I've been on was last December when I went to Orlando, FL for 5 days with a friend of mine. Visited both parks and went to Kennedy Space Center. Overall a really good, relaxing time. Coming from around 30 degree weather to 70/80 was a big change and a real please for the time we were down there.

I'd like to go to Bahamas one day and lay out on a beach doing nothing for a day. I'd also like to visit Hawaii too.

I've been to every state between Minnesota and Mississippi. I've made the 13-18 hour car ride from MN to MS a few times. Nothing great to share. Truthfully i want to go to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to see a Grand Am series race. I don't really care to travel and am content with where i am. Whenever i want to travel, it's usually because there is a race going on.

lol not much too share when you go from MN to MS :bonk: i have some friends who are the same way, and are just content with staying put. I personally am intrigued by different types of people and how they live. also i like to see and do as much as i can before i get old.

This is how i felt when i left houston it was 95ish and when i got up to virginia and rolled down the windows it felt amazing, probably high 70s when we entered the state. i still plan on going to disney world and universal (even as a grown adult) i never got to go, but at least now i can bully my way to the front much easier. hawaii, japan, europe are high on my to do list.

I spent 2 years in Japan. Yokota Air Base. I dream of returning constantly. It's been 12 years since I left:(
