Possible grounding issue?

So, long story short, I have an amp that is overheating over time with minimal load. One of the options with an amp overheating is that the wiring may be the cause. So I started testing chassis grounding.

I've notice that the ohms between the amp ground point to the chassis near the battery practically 0 ohms. However, the ground from the battery lead to the chassis point near said battery is showing 2 ohms. Now this cable going from the battery to the chassis is all stock. The only additional wiring is the positive to the amp and the ground for the amp, both 4 gauge and as short as I can run them.

Has anyone else noticed their stock grounding cable showing such resistance in our cars? I'm sure I could simply add an additional 4 gauge wire from the battery to the chassis, but it just seemed odd.

I always wondered why Cusco make grounding kit for this car.

"Hey, lets take about $20 of wire and some connectors, put our name on it, then sell it to ricers for $200"

I have plenty of wire and connectors to proper ground the battery better, just concerns me it came from the factory that way.

I was more aiming at that might be known problem, if such product exists.
