Ontario Time Attack (OTA) Schedule and info
There has been quite a huge interest advanced driving clinics and lapping days so far, figured there might be some interest in getting some people involved in time attack as well.
OTA puts on some of the best events in the province, with vehicle classing designed to test driver skill. All events are professionally run, with marshals, EMS and rescue/extraction all on site. It's as safe of an environment you'll find at a time attack event. I'll add more details and registration url's as they become available. If you need any help at all shoot me a message or post up in here! Some things to know: To compete you need to have a few things in order... 1) You have to be a paid member of a CASC affiliated club, you can find a full list of applicable clubs here: http://www.casc.on.ca/club_list . Most (or all) of the clubs offer complimentary weekend memberships for people wanting to try out the series. This is limited to a single weekend, after that you'll need a full membership. Most clubs are ~$40 per year for a full membership. I'd suggest a club that is local to you, and is heavily involved with the series (SPDA, OMSC, TAC, MCO) 2) You need to have a current Class C license from CASC-OR. Temporary single weekend licenses are available for those wanting to give the series a try, but you're limited to a single weekend. I believe the cost is $10 for the temp license. 3) You need to be signed off at a school, or during morning practice by a qualified instructor (lots on hand to make this happen). This is to ensure the safety of all participants, and is just a check to make sure you know how to drive safely on a track. It's not a test of speed, just of your basic abilities. If you can follow a proper line consistently and know what the flags mean, you're good to compete. 4) You'll need to classify your car to know which class you'll be in, preferably before the morning of the event. The classification system is located at: http://ccdb.casc.on.ca , register and create a profile, then add your car with all applicable modifications (and notes detailing what part/manufacturer, etc). Schedule: Event #1 - June 6th, CTMP DDT (probably with the kink in the back straight) https://www.facebook.com/events/1563972443868002/ http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...eattack-634890 Event #2 - June 7th, CTMP DDT (probably without the kink) https://www.facebook.com/events/1638403809726676/ http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...eattack-109384 Event #3 - June 20th, TMP https://www.facebook.com/events/436023033239486/ http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...eattack-443466 School #2 - July 4th, CTMP GP Event #4 - July 5th, CTMP GP MCO HPDE - August 1st, Calabogie Event #5 - August 2nd, Calabogie (Not sure which layout) Event #6 - August 15th, Shannonville (Probably the pro track) Event #7 - August 16th, Shannonville (Probably the full track) Event #8 - August 29th, Grand Bend (Not sure which layout) Event #9 - August 30th, Grand Bend (Not sure which layout) There is also a series shootout if you compete in 6 of 9 events (schools not included). |

Alright, cat can come out of the bag... OTA is partnering with Red Hill Toyota Scion for this event. There will be special prizing for the top FRS', as well as a show and shine.
Even if you're not interested in entering the time attack, it should be a great event to see some nice cars and watch some racing. |
