Help!! No sound when connect my ipod/iphone with cable

Hi all, I am new to the forum and just got my BRZ today (I am in Canada).
However, I connect my iphone use USB cable but has no sound. The deck shows it is playing (the time bar is moving) but no song.
When I use Bluetooth stream it has no problem.
I already tried:
1. different ipod & iphone (iphone 4, old ipod video, newer 8GB nano) still no sound
2. I use 3 different cables and it is not defect cable

Is my deck defected?
Any suggestion, comment is welcome. Thanks

Yes I did plug in both but no sound. Then I found out I also need to set the 'AV1' to 'Ipod' and it works now.

Thank you so much for the suggestion

Not sure if Canadian model is different, but our deck need to use the cable that comes with the car. And both 3.5mm & usb need to plug in to make the ipod works.

BTW, except for mine. I also saw one white and one black waiting for PDI at that dealership.
Wonder if those two owners are member of this forum :D

Did you double check if your iphone is stream through bluetooth still?
I had a similar problem with our Acura, sometimes even with the cable plugged in, the iphone is streaming to bluetooth and the car's stereo is trying to get it through the cable. When that happens, I need to change iphone's output by touch the following icon:

Percy, did you first try maxing the volume on the ipod?

I had nothing happening on my Android until I raised up the volume on it to max.

I had to update the firmware on my iPod using iTunes.

Now it works great USB only.

Mine only worked after I unsynced the Bluetooth.
