FR-S vs Mustang GT at Toronto Motorsports Park
Took my FR-S to a lapping day at Toronto Motorsports Park on the 29th and had a lot of fun with my mostly stock car.
Highlight of the day was a bit of a chase that I thought highlighted the strength and weakness of the FR-S all in a lap.. The car is mostly stock but the RE-11As and the upgraded NEO Motorsport big brakes make a huugge difference but other than that I have minimal power mods. Modifications: NEO Motorsport F300 brake kit CF Driveshaft OFT 93 stage 1 map Potenza RE-11A Sorry for the poorly placed phone... it was my first time using Harry's Lap Timer and I didn't realize it was in view of my dashcam.. (polarized lenses meant I couldn't see the screen of the cam) [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui2JKrgj4l4"]The strength and weakness of the FR-S/BRZ in one video - YouTube[/ame] |
No shit. I was there for the evening session that day. I'm surprised I didn't see you when I rolled in. I had the same kind of fun with a M4. Well, I couldn't quite keep up, but he was just barely inching away from me. Gotta love punching above your weight!

You are also obviously a better driver than that Mustang. His lines in the corners were terrible compared to yours.

Nice video. I'll be up at TMP in July. Can't wait!

I love how this chassis, even at 200hp, is limited by the driver. Even with straights, the superior driver in the FRS was hitting better lines and more apexes than the mustang.
Great video OP, was genuinely sad it ended when it did. |

Great video, but I'm afraid you forgot to shout "nemesis" on the straights.

Nice of him to let you play through.

It's always annoying when someone with a fast car in the straights but slower in the twisties won't let you pass them, or when they signal for you to pass but forget they need to actually slow down.. |

Imagining myself in a car with that much more oomph, I'd have to really work at pulling back. Did he catch up to you early in the straights, or was he able to keep going full bore after you passed him? |
You were definitely putting pressure on him in the corners, to the point where he started carrying too much speed on turn-in and missed apexes. Looks like you had a good time!

It looks like the Stang driver wasn't looking far enough ahead. Almost AutoX-like twichiness
