Loving this kit makes me want to pick it up over a sbd turbo kit just trying to get over the fact that it makes less power for more money. I do like the idea of a supercharger vs turbo though I'm also wondering if you could change the blow off valve on this kit to give people the sound they seem to want.

I planning to do GT supercharger in my BRZ this year.
Wondering what's the main different between the Ver. 1 and Ver. 2?
Because I see the Ver. 2's price has drop quite a bit and less piping.

The new version uses a larger intercooler and optional fuel injectors.

thought i share my dyno.

HKS V2 with fuel injector upgrade. Running TRD air filter with Tomei header, overpipe, front pipe, and Greddy CS GTS V2 catback tuned by ECUtek. the restrictor plate is slightly bored out.

Excellent numbers. Car must be super fast 40 km/h and up.
Standard pulley?
How much did you bore the restrictor and how did you decide the amount?
Is it much work/cost for a mechanic to do the injectors? I have Deatchwerks 700c that aren't yet installed.
Did the tuner come to do the work at the mechanics shop?
Is your tune speed density calibrated?
Do you/will you install a wideband?

it is pure happiness past 40km/h :D

yes! standard pulley! the restrictor plate is bored about 4mm. Injectors didn't cost a lot, but i had the shop do a lot of other work as well. The tuner came to the shop to tune. I installed the innovate SCG-1 as well.

cheers,
Kelvin

:thanks:

Forgot to ask, was your dyno on 91?

From what I understand the "Fuel Upgrade kit" comes with injectors and a bigger restrictor plate (43mm)? How much cc is the Hks Injectors?

I'm hoping Hks sells the restrictor separately as I might just go with different injectors instead.

brady86 07-05-2015 03:54 PM

13 psi seems like a lot of boost on the stock engine and i am surprised you didnt make well into the 300s with that much boost unless its a mustang dyno.

nope, i used 94 octane. not 100% sure on the injector size, i'll have to double-check when i get home but the restrictor plate is 43mm compared to the 39mm one in the V1 kit

i agree, i thought it was a lot of boost as well, but the tuner has done several HKS kits before on the FRS and said it was safe for a daily.

brady86 07-06-2015 01:00 PM

have you timed a 0-60 or 1/4 with this set up and was it a mustang dyno? @FRSCanuck and it could be okay i would just be worried about how long the stock engine would last i want to last at least two years of good use when im supercharged/turbo before i need a rebuild lol.

JoeBoxer 07-08-2015 08:13 AM

I know i couldn't use this for track use but for a daily driver would this work with the HKS v2 supercharger kit?
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50427

I'm curious why more people don't run this kit, its similar in price to the Kraftwerks which breaks belts so why don't more use this? Lack of support in the US maybe?

I would like to run it but also considering the Jackson Racing or maybe the Edelbrock depending on numbers and price.

I would just get a real oil cooler to be safe no point in cheaping out on safety for your cars engine health lol. And I too am wondering why less people run this set up for me its between this the vortech and the Jackson kit still trying to figure out what's the best power and reliability wise.
