@Kiske Honda had a semi gloss black on some of their bikes in the early/mid 2000s. It was called asphalt. At first glance, it just looked like a matte or semi gloss dark grey. It was full of metallic flake, and really popped when the sunlight hit it. I have the paint code and use it for trim on some of my cars. I agree with you...properly done it looks hot.

One of the very reasons I wanted the nice shiny orange was that this is a small, low, hard to spot vehicle in the first place. Flat black just turns it into an almost invisible lump on the highway.
Will watch for the OP to post "some guy ran into me and says he didn't see me. What a loser". |

I can peel it off haha it's just a hard place to mask so I painted over it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah I was originally going to use this as my base coat for something else but it looks cool in person so I kept it for now. If I plasti dip over it I'll definitely use the gloss finish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Came out looking cheap. Did you rattle can it, or was this done with a proper spray gun?
Also, the quality of the work will be dictated by the quality of the prep work. You not masking off the rear windows, or the signal lights doesn't tell me this was a very thorough job. I guess if you like it, that's all that matters. |

The 2006 Yamaha R6 came to mind also. The edition was called "Raven" and it was a two-tone matte black and gloss black... http://i.imgur.com/1cKufjp.jpg Also: Cool tails OP. I actually like those a lot. :) |

Removing plasti dip on the body panels is actually pretty easy with enough coats applied. The wheels on the other hand are a huge pain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
