P0700 Code after reading ecu with OFT

Hi Guys,

I had been having AT issues before reading the ECU:

I'm hopefully getting it fixed tomorrow. However today after reading the ecu I got code P0700 and of course a check engine light. Is that caused by the OFT or because of the transmission issues and maybe the OFT brought it up? Also will the dealer know I read the ecu? I didn't even flash anything yet because I was planning on taking it in tomorrow.

you can sometimes trigger codes like P0700 and Uxxxx if you plug or unplug oft (or other obd scanner devices) into obd port when ignition is on.

But if you having transmission issues it may be a real code

No dealer will not know you have read ecu.

Thank you very much, I'm assuming its legitimate though as other people with a similar code without an OFT had a similar slow and sluggish shift issue. I think the dealer will end up replacing the TCM
