In before "car needs better driver not more power" comments.

TBH I wish I had waited to buy a FR-S after Cosworth had come out with these packages.

By the time Cosworth had done the packages I had already spent $$$ on mods that I did not want to throw away.

For as much money as they are charging for the exhaust, I would expect the tips to be perfectly centered in the cutouts. That is atrocious:

Can anyone with the Cosworth exhaust confirm if this tip alignment is accurate on their car as well?

Hopefully that was a beta version on a test mule...

Good to see that aftermarket manufacturers just like OEM's have taken to paying blogs to write adverts instead of magazines, the digital revolution continues.

Meh

The reality is that the FRS NEEDS nothing to be a good car.

The "Not Enough Power" song is sung primarily by the armchair critic whose life and/or wife would never allow them own such a car in the first place. When you consider the reality and impracticality of owning a sports car, you realize that there are a lot of those people joining the chorus.

Or in many, many cases now...parents!

In all honesty, after talking to my parents and my insurance company, I was talked down from an EVO X to an FR-S :p

However, I am paying for it all on my own like a good boy.

I'm sure this question has been asked, but I'm going to ask it again anyway.

Why is there the insistence that this car needs more power, but the same isn't said of the Miata? Is our P/W ratio that much worse?

Chimera 05-28-2015 02:56 PM

Because the FRS/BRZ is new, and the Miata is very much set in its ways

No the Twins have a better P/W ratio than Miatas.

I think the reason is Miatas are a benign/cute looking convertible and have a long-standing stigma attached to them, so people don't expect them to be fast. The Twins are relatively new and look more aggressive (sleek coupe) so people expect them to be faster.
