Best setup for backroads
 

Hey guys so I enjoy driving back roads so I'm curious what's is the best set up as far as suspension mods and tire size that best fits, with out rubbing keep in mind I plan on dropping it around 1 inch with the coilerovers, and I want 17 inch rims... As far is engine mods I'm keep it na just do basic mods and tune but I will get to that around 30k when I'm comfortable with the current power and I'm able to use it all.. thank you guys for the answers

Do a 17x8, offset somewhere between +35 and +45. Put 225/45-17 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on them.

What coilovers are you looking at? If they have camber plates, great. If not, figure out how you're going to adjust front camber. Either camber plates or bolts. In the rear, get some lower control arms. Then get a decently sporty alignment.

Put in MTEC shift springs, a rear shifter bushing, whiteline transmission mount insert, and whiteline rear diff carrier inserts. Change the transmission and diff fluid to Motul 300, and you're good to go.

A as far as suspension idk I was reading some stickies and there is a science behind it so idk that is my new question what are the best coilovers for handling or should I go with springs if only want to drop it bit not to much

Whatever coilovers handle bumps and dips best at the track, will also probably handle bumps and dips best on back roads as well.

Don't cheap out.

I don't plan cheaping out on them I just want a good set that do what I want them to do.. I just don't know to get theirs to many options lol my budget is high 1k

You don't necessarily need coilovers. Done right (with the right budget) they can be great, but on the low end they aren't always better than a good set of springs. Or stock for that matter.

For your budget, a quality set of springs (RCE, Swift) with all the toppings (Bilstein or Koni shocks, camber bolts, a few bushings) would be a great set-up that's fast, fun to drive, and comfortable.

The only coilovers I'd consider below $1500 are the Bilstein PSS, but I'm not crazy about the springs.

I'd recommend camber plates and LCAs, and leave the rest stock. Getting a proper alignment will do more for you than upgrading the suspension itself.

I just finished helping a friend set up his car and we took it through some back roads this past weekend and it performed very well. Very neutral handling. Didn't really feel any push from the front end except on one occasion through a steep, downhill, left handed sweeper. Very mild though. Also got a slight bit of oversteer at once ocassion exiting a hairpin that was on a slight uphill.

Car is running:
ST Coilovers, SPC camber bolts, 18x9.5 wheels and 255/35s all around.

Alignment is:
-2.3/-2.5 camber (f/r)
0.05 out/ 0.10 in toe (f/r)

Still planning on getting RLCAs to further dial the rear camber and toe into what we want. It felt great as is though. Only thing I noted the car could use is some better brake pads. Engine is stock and felt plenty quick on the road. Car is also AT.

He was hell bent on getting a turbo setup, but now he's considering otherwise since he's seen what the car is already capable of at the stock power level. Now he's just considering a UEL and tune.

Sweet thanks I'll take note... And yeah the brakes do suck in my opinion they feel to soft idk I want to upgrade them but don't feel like dropping 2k yet on a kit but I'm get pads. what I want is suspensions then wheels and lastly brakes then power
