newb questions about 2015 frs touch screen HU
hey guys,
just picked up my 2015 frs this weekend and im stoked! just wondering something though, im already planning my frs>>>gt86 conversion and i wanted to ask a couple a things about the stock HU. originally i was planning on replacing the stock Scion non touch screen HU with a Toyota non touch screen HU but i didnt know that the touch screen was standard now, so id rather keep it, since its actually pretty nice! - first off, can i add Gps? and is this something only the dealer can do? or can i go aftermarket? - id also like to add a rear cam too, can anyone recommend any? - lastly is there anyway to Hack the HU to change the start up screen with the Scion logo? lol and change it to Toyota? i know this can be done with computers and phones and stuff but im not sure if it can be done with a car audio system. thought id ask cause it would probably be easier and cheaper to do than changing the touchscreen hu for a jdm toyota one. thanks guys! Lots of info on the forum about all your questions. Use the Search this Forum function, specifically for the Electronics | Audio | NAV | Infotainment section.
You need the nav module and the GPS antenna for GPS. This: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Scion-B...ff0109&vxp=mtr and check the classified section of the forum. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=66 Rydeen Duo and the Beat Sonic BU cameras are popular. Again use the Search function for more info. I have the 2014 touch screen HU. I don't think there is a way to hack the HU to change the startup Scion screen. I have not found one. |
cool, thanks for that info ricky bobby! appreciate it!
