Please advise: FRS rear bumper damage

Got a little bit of rear end damage. No dents, just paint scuffed up. Any tips on getting this repaired? I think I should submit this to my insurance company for reimbursement. Thank in advance for the help!

For a change the old joke of "that will buff out" may be true. Get a good compound and and touch up paint and go to town on it. You will still see it but most others will not. Probably not worth the deductible and no sense getting it on the insurance records.

Thanks for the advice, dont think it will buff out. Will most likely need to have the entire rear bumper paint matched.

Must be way worse than the pic looks. Somebody hit you?

It gives the car character, tell people you were drifting and ever so slightly grazed the wall with that corner. Mad skills

@Tcoat has the right idea, not worth the cost or insurance hit to get it redone, compound, buff, sand, touch it up then clay bar it and deal with it till the next major scuffle, or alternatively you can remove the bumper and shop around and see quotes of shops to repaint the part to the correct paint code, your cars paint code is: 37J BTW

And if you need touch up paint:[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Subaru-Satin-White-Pearl/dp/B007QECJ4I"]Amazon.com: Genuine OEM Subaru Satin White Pearl Touch Up Paint - Code 37J (Includes TWO 1/2 ounce tubes of paint -1 Base & 1 Top Coat): Automotive[/ame]

It's honestly completely your decision there's no quick fix to this

Just tell them Kurt Busch put you in the wall.

Watch, wait and replace the bumper cover. Eventually someone in a Whiteout will rear end another car, leaving the rear bumper pristine. The going rate on Car-Part.com for used rear bumper covers seems to be about $250, so just wait until one comes up in the right color and buy it.

In the mean time, just buff it out and live with it.

find a body shop who you trust with painting metallic paints,

this color can be tricky to color match!

Who's fault was it? If it was the other person's fault, file a claim against their insurance company. They will pay out for a new spray of the bumper. But, what others are saying, just buff it out then use touch up paint and use Langka blob remover to make it a smooth finish. Then profit with the left over?
