Ordered from Japanparts.com. No pictures because they arrived before my car did lol, took 2 weeks including weekends + 1 holiday from order to arrival. However the post office was on strike for a bit, so that may have had some affect.
Great service from Japanparts.com, will likely order some more goodies from them now that I know they are excellent. |
still waiting on my tips. did you guys have to jack the car up to install or can you slap em on while the car is on the ground?

What is the overall length of the JDM tip? It has been asked by others several times but never answered in this thread.

Very nice ..but holy moly.. around $200 shipped?! I never knew they costed that much. I always thought they were $50-60. I would buy them if they were <$100.
At that price, I am pretty content with stock weak-lookin dinky usdm ones (less attention from the cops: stealth mode).. if I was willing to spend $200 on just tips, I would just put that money towards a header or tomei exhaust lol. |

but ye, it's still quite expensive for just 'look'. I only got mine because I got a really good deal. I could've gone with an axle back, but now I think about it, I don't have to worry about getting pulled over. |
I just ordered a WHITE Monogram and think I have decided against getting the TRD exhaust system. Can these JDM tips just be added on to the stock exhaust until my warranty runs out when I can install a proper exhaust (GREDDY possibly...)
How difficult is it to install these tips? Thanks in advance, :search: |
It's super easy. There is just a single screw that you need to undo to remove the stock tips, and the same screw is used to put the new tips on. Just take a look at your exhaust right now.
I have a set that I would be willing to sell, if someone wants them. |
can someone post some side shots to show how far in they can go?
I want to get them, but I'm not sure I'd like it if they stick out too far. |
I actually like the stock usdm tips more(reminds me of those old school small tip HKS or Mugen exhausts) and they make your car faster too ..as in, the cop will pull you over first while I'll still be cruising ;)
But more seriously..the stock jdm tips are huuge and look totally aftermarket with its' 86mm opening (that's almost 3.5"!!). Kinda defeats the purpose if you want to keep it stock looking and keep a stock exhaust (like me)... and with those huge jdm oem tips, I'd rather just get an aftermarket exhaust since cops will think it's aftermarket either way, stock with jdm tips or an actual exhaust system (though it'll be much louder). |

They stick out compared to the curves on the rear, but you can see in general they do not stick out much farther than the diffuser from the side shot. |
guys,
Can I install these on a Toyota 86 as well? Sorry I'm a newbie :) |
