Issue is completely fixed they replaced the TCM and reseated all the connections to it as well as reset my ecu and flashed the latest OEM firmware. I am now running oft stage 1 93 octane tune with no issues.

I just got back my Fr-S from the dealer, even if they saw the problem they won't help me because there's no check engine light on -_-... do you have by any chance the detailed invoice with the work they did on your car so I can show them how to fix my car? My dealer is really the worst dealer I've seen :mad0260:

Go to another dealer. Each dealership is independently owned.

Will do later, but the important thing you MUST do is ask to drive with the tech to show him the problem, there's a tendency for the asshats at the desk through no fault of there own right a small little note like "transmission doesn't downshift" and the tech isn't sure about what the actual issue is. The dealer invoice basically says TCM replaced, reset and ask cables been reseated as to OEM spec and ecu code cleared

That's what I did with my dealer and they told me it's normal-_- They told me that it was based on how I drive... So according to them an automatic car that stalls, give a knock on a shift and compress at a point where the wheel locks is normal... Friday I'm going to see another dealer hopefully they'll fix it!

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and a new owner of a 2013 FRS! :w00t: I've been keeping an eye on this thread due to recently experiencing something strange with my Automatic Transmission... Hoping I could get some help since this issue sounds similar.

Anyways, just to get clarification on this AT issue. I'm crusing at 40mph on 6th gear. I downshift to 4th in regular mode and it'll "not catch" 4th gear until I let go of the throttle. Until I let go of the throttle it'll shift aggresively into 4th gear. If I don't let go of the throttle long enough it'll just keep revving.

Is this a similar to what you're experiencing? or is mine a whole different situation?

Please excuse my rookie terminology.:bellyroll:

Slightly different issue yours sounds like a serious slip, it could still be a TCM issue

Hmmm I do this all the time (6th to 4th) so I can pass other cars. RPM instantly shoot up right as I hit 5th and 4th. Never needed to let off of the throttle. Maybe some 2013 owners can chime in.

TCM is the transmission control module correct? Yeah it definitely feels like a major slip issue. I think I will open a different thread for this so I don't high jack your thread. Thanks for your help!

I understand the RPM’s would go up when down shifting, but my car won’t move when this issue happens until I let go of the throttle. Then it’ll get into gear and accelerate normally.
