Interesting to convert whp back to hp and power/weight
I was just calculating my whp I got last time I was on a dyno (250) and converted it back to crank hp (250 * 1.18) which is 295 or so, which means my car has a power to weight ration of about 9.2 which is pretty darn good! Not many cars for around the price of our cars plus $4-5k for force induction that can say that. Especially the guys that are buying used ones for $20k or less then boosting them. Although it may be late and my math is broken and done for the night.
How much drive train loss you think we have with our different forced induction methods? I'm sure my math isn't good. I've heard the rule 18% drive train loss which means a stock 200 crank hp car has about 164whp. So I guess that means my 250whp is about 280 at the crank is it's 18% drive train loss with and 236 crank torque? 9.914 power to weight ration. Under 10 is good in my opinion. Time for bed. Numbers hurt! |
