$50 Kensun HID KITS
Has anyone tried these HIDs on or cars?
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZF4MW8/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3GVO71WD MGEMM"]Amazon.com: 55w Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit "All Bulb Sizes and Colors" with Digital Ballasts - H11 - 6000k: Automotive[/ame] |
keep in mind that you get what you pay for. aka cheap china HID's are cheap
|
Illegal, please don't waste your money.
An H9 conversion is still technically illegal, the housings are meant for H11 so anything else is a no go, but the filament is in the right location so it will have the right pattern. The H9 conversion isn't right for every H11 though, the bit of light allowed above the cutoff to illuminate street signs is significantly higher and may be blinding to others, do your research before you spend any money, HID in halogen housings is definitely wrong though. I have kensun on my winjets, 6k on them currently (gonna swap to a 5k or 4.3k in the future), next to my friends true HIDs BRZ. So far they have been working for 6month strong, backed up with a 2 year warranty.i fixed the cut off with my headlights so my friends tell me it doesn't blind them. They have really good customer service. 109753

Have had them for awhile and they're probably the best bang for the buck. Super bright though for 35w so adjust accordingly!

If you want better quality for roughly the same price pick up some clearance morimoto bulbs from the retro fit source and some fast bright ballast from aliexpress.

I've had the Kensun brand HID kits on several of my cars. They are hard to beat for the price and I bought all of them from Amazon because their return policy is gangster. Never had a problem with these lights. I mount the ballast in sensible locations though. Away from exessive heat. The kit comes with brackets and screws so you don't have to zip tie everything.

Was actually planning on using them in winjets. |
I also have Kensun HID's for both my daytime running lights and my headlights. I love them. They are really bright lol. I got 6K and they are brighter and more blue than my buddies 8K lights he has on his truck.

I read in a thread on here that tuners have found instances of non-OEM HID's putting out sufficiently high RF emissions that it would screw up the ECU and make the care act strange. OEM products are rigorously tested for their emissions, aftermarket ones do not have to meet this requirement.

to the OP: if you are dead set on a PnP option (it's not as bad for the FRS since it comes with halogen projectors compared to halogen reflectors), I suggest buying the Morimoto bulbs from The Retrofit Source. top notch customer service and better than most, if not all, of the China bulbs on the market. |

All HID kits are illegal technically. There's a reason a single OEM ballast or bulb is more expensive than an entire "kit." |

Here's another picture to compare
Kensun 6k 35watt H7 vs OEM HIDs |
Well I'm just going to keep the stock winjet halogens for now I don't want to put HIDs on till I save up for a high quality retrofit

Hmm you know what, I can see where you made your statement. But they really match, for some reason my phone couldn't focus it, maybe I could get another picture to compare. |

Too close to tell much about output... Quote:
Phone's auto white balance will show things we can't normally see. It can also make blue look white and white look yellow... |
@BobbyDee how was the install? Would you mind posting pics on where you put all the hardware? Any electrical issues so far? Do they start up all the time? Any straight on shots from a bit of a distance?
