Project Mu RSF 01A Review
I was previously using the HC-CS pads from Project Mu, but I was starting to fade them as I progressed. I ordered up a set of these as I was interested that they were developed just for this platform. First off, for anyone who thinks track pads font work in the cold, these DO! Im sure though that the pad/rotor life will suffer. I was shocked how much bite these pads had even before bedding them in. The bedding in process was no joke compared to bedding in my HC-CS pads. I couldn't get them to fad as much as i tried, tons of smoke, and a nice transfer layer, but just no fade like i usually get bedding in pads. On the track they are amazing, the initial bite really help, and even on the same fluid on the same day, they have a firmer pedal feel. The rear pads have a different compound, that has a higher initial MU(0.45~0.58μ compared to the fronts at 0.41~0.49μ). Some of the turns on Fuji speedway require trail braking, no way around it as they have a rapidly decreasing radius at the exit, so having a more aggressive rear pad really helped me rotate the car. Granted, I'm just a beginner, but I thought it was beneficial. Have to be careful though, as before if i got too heavy on the trail braking i would understeer, and now its very easy to lose the tail. Brake dust is horrible bla bla whatever. Like most people who've tried track pads, I'll never be able to track on street pads again lol. Last turn in this video has some overly aggressive trail braking(and a sloppy recovery)
