Insurance and Modifications
Hey all, didn't see a thread dedicated to this yet, but I'm curious; How do your modifications affect your insurance? I'm thinking about breathing mods on a 2.55RS i'm looking at. I'm not a fan of the keeping secrets from insurance companies route, but is it a common approach? I've got some friends that do it this way. :slap: Anyway, if you guys find that an exhaust system doesn't increase premiums much, great. If i'm paranoid about having coverage denied, tell me! Thoughts? Opinions? Concerns? :burnrubber:

At least around here insurance doesn't care if you have modifications, they just won't pay to replace them if damaged nor compensate you for them in the event of a total loss. Some insurers will allow you to pay extra to cover additional value over book for modifications. So the decision is yours on whether or not you want to insure your modifications, or take the risk that you wouldn't be compensated for them in a loss.

Hmmm. So they won't see you as more of a liability if you're adding performance bits? That's good to know!
