Clutch
Looking to see if others are seeing the same thing.
For those with manual transmissions on the BRZ....does your clutch engage very high? meaning...when you depress the clutch all the way to the floor, does it engage the selected gear after you release it .... after it is almost fully released at the top? Thanks much |
I think others have mentioned this, as well.
My wife's F-150 is like that too; engage/disengage is right near the top of the stroke, where my Impreza 2.5i seems to be near the floor. Switching between the two vehicles is interesting. |
Yeah this clutch is like my old Preludes clutch (probably true for all Hondas) where there is a good amount of dead space before the clutch starts grabbing.

A bit, yeah. The clutch feel is soooo bad it's somewhat hard to feel it anyways.

I've noticed this as well, and is probably my only complaint with the car. Seems like shifting and engaging takes longer than it should. Still, once my leg gets used to it and I build up the quad muscles for my quicker left leg, we should have no trouble :) And this means I only love 99.9% of the car.

Agree and Agree...I find myself pushing the clutch in only a quarter of the way in instead of down to the floor. I hope this doesn't do harm to the clutch plate or put extra wear and tear on it.

Also - if you are not satisfied with the catch point, you should be able to adjust it. I haven't had a chance to look but I'm sure someone's has already adjusted theirs. |
Is there a clutch stop on the floorboard that could be replaced with a larger one to take up the useless clutch travel? If not, hopefully one of the great Subaru aftermarket parts making companies can make one. I know they work great on BMWs.
