Bayson R front lip experience?

2 Attachment(s)
Any of you guys with a lip from Bayson R, get a lip from them with scratches looking like this? I'm asking because I feel like this wouldn't be on every lip. I called them and they said it sounds like a machining mark, which would show up on every lip. I sent them pictures and am waiting for a response, but wanted to know if others had lips show up like this?

The scratch is about 8-10 inches long and is easily visible, that's the only reason I'm curious about others experience.

Thanks for any input!

My friend looks similar but not as bad, and it's on the bottom so it's not noticeable.

Picked it up from Bayson R.

I just installed my CS style lip and sides last Saturday. I also purchased the rear side aprons but did not install them because the finish does not match the sides and lip.

Bayson R told me in an email (I bought through their ebay store), the aprons all have a matte finish. Two other forum members confirmed that their aprons are matte also.

Without explicitly stating it, I think Bayson expects buyers to paint their products. You don't have to, but i think quality control is not wasted on the finished appearance. :bonk:

I did not paint my lip or sides. I'm more than pleased with the look. Fitting the front lip was a bit challenging as it was not perfect.

Yeah the aprons I received were different finish as well. They told me that they have a coating on them that the skirts and front lip don't have. I wasn't expecting to have to sand or paint them as I had seen many install as is.

The side skirts look absolutely fine but the lip and rear aprons had scratches on them. If the scratch on the lip was even half the size I could live with it, but its just seems like a pretty big scratch to always be visible. I'm hoping they will offer to send me another one. Over the phone they told me to sand and paint it but then I couldn't return it so... I'm not sure

You can pay to ship it, or you can go buy a can of matte/satin/flat/trim spray paint. Or plasti-dip em'

I also have a lip from Bayson R that I ordered from ebay. I had my buddy from a local body shop paint it to match. My lip also has similar scratches, which was easily solved.

Did you keep it the same black finish? Do you have pics of how yours looks after paint?

I'm probably not even gonna bother getting this painted, it's just a piece of plastic. It'll serve its purpose to protect my bumper :p

Mine didn't have any issues, but these pieces aren't really meant to be put on as-is.
I didn't paint my rear sti style pieces and the part that sticks out away from the body was noticeably faded.

Mine didn't have issues, but it came with a shiny finish, which I didn't like. I took some 1000 and 1500 grit sandpaper and lightly wetsanded the entire thing to give it a matte finish before mounting it up. I think it ended up looking pretty good.

I just ordered side skirts, rear skirts/diffuser and a front lip (all cs style) from them, so I hope mine doesn't have them! I'm probably gonna gloss-dip them anthracite anyway.

I'm wrapping mine in anthracite right now. should be a nice contrast with the silver.

I picked up mine from the Bayson R shop and it looked perfectly fine and has been holding up well over the past 6 months.

All normal. I recently added the lip kit and noticed the same thing. The front lip fitment is eh. I just didn't pull it back as much and left it alone so overtime it wouldn't ruin the front bumper.
