Spec-D Catback Exhaust
So I just got my Spec-D exhaust and installed it. Damn! It is quite loud. I love it.
I guess some would say it has some drone, but that isn't an issue for me. Plus it comes with silencers that should take care of that. Even with the silencers it is 100x better than the stock exhaust. One of the tips sticks out a TINY bit further than the other, but keep in mind I kind of just went at it and installed it. I could probably loosen each tip a little and even it out by tightening the bolts evenly. As long as its not blowing up my car I am happy. I would buy it again, and recommend it/Spec-D so far. For anyone interested in it here is a video I did with and without silencers. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7sclHFSpLY"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7sclHFSpLY[/ame] Let me know if you want pics. Now I am waiting on a Megan Racing (Yes I know) front pipe. |
I'll be checking this out as soon as I'm out of work! Looking for an exhaust myself.
|
I also have other videos if you want me to post em.
A quick packaging video, welds video, and post install video. Lemme know if they'll help. I love the sound... For my 10m break at work I just went and started it up... That's all lol. |
I like saying specDs nuts. Sounds good.

It's super bassy. I can't hear myself think on the cold/warm start. It's beautiful

I think gas mileage has gone up. It was getting 36 while I was going 55-60 on a rural road, but once I hit the stop sign its been all city driving and its sitting at 25-26.
I am pretty sure there IS a difference in power etc. I know a lot of people say you get nothing without a tune, but first to second feels so much better, and it just feels faster. This could just be me. I am so distracted by the sound that I don't pay attention the speed until I realize I am going too fast, lol. It sounds too good! |
I bought this exhaust and it should be in tomorrow! Super excited. You didn't have to do any welding right?? Also, I have 4 Jack stands and 2 jacks and I'm hoping that will be ok. How hard is it to remove the silencers?
|
No welding. As far I know the welds are fine. I just used the stock jack and 2 jack stands. If you have a better jack that's ideal cause the stock one didn't get the car very high. Last time I tinkered with it I drove one side of the car on the sidewalk and put the jack stands on the opposite side. This was the best way so far. Still love it! Silencers are super easy it's just 2 her screws on each tip and a nut. Took all of 3 minutes to take them off.
