Hello everyone! There's an SCCA Novice School happening out at Bremerton Motorsports Park on Saturday, May 23rd. This event is likely going to be limited to ONLY 50 ENTRANTS so if you're interested in attending you should sign up soon.

A $60 ($50 if you are already an SCCA annual member) entry includes the following:

  1. 8+ autocross runs with a dedicated instructor.
  2. Free lunch (hotdog / philly cheesesteak + chips & drink).
  3. One free entry to a future NWR-SCCA autocross of your choice (there's one the Sunday after if you want to make a weekend out of it).
  4. A weekend (3 day) SCCA membership which can later be used for a $10 discount on an annual membership.

During the lunch break and at the end of the day the instructors / core workers will be driving their own cars on course and taking passengers. This event is a great opportunity to get into autocross for the first time or get some feedback on how to improve your driving. We have several local & national champion instructors and the course will be designed to teach fundamentals.

The best part of all, though, is that this just the beginning of three days of autocross at Bremerton. There are many cheap and comfortable hotel options in the surrounding area if you want to make a mini vacation out of it. On Sunday, May 24th the SCCA regional event #3 will be happening and then on Monday, May 25th (Memorial Day) there will be a BSCC event.

Aw, I miss Bremerton. I attended this event about a dozen years ago. It's a must do for any beginner AutoXer. I still get my BSCC e-mails every so often. :tear:

Edit: I will also not that when I went about 25 people showed up because it was raining and I would guess I got almost an hour of seat time. I had to have at least 30 runs that day -in various cars.

Bremerton is a great site. This is the SCCA school, BSCC had theirs a couple weeks ago I believe. Lately we've been pretty blessed with weather and SCCA hasn't had a wet event yet this season.

Still 15 spots left in the school!

3 days left to register and only 10 spots remaining!

Having autocross on this site with your FR-S before with the stock tires, do you have a baseline PSI you would recommend for these cars? Looks like we may get some rain on Saturday just like last year.

I've heard a lot of mixed things from people on the OEM pressures. Some were telling me to run it in the mid to high 30s and others told me run it in the mid 20s. Last event (Packwood) I ended up running 29 front and 30 rear I think. Sounds crazy I know... but when I looked at the tire wear it was way too high up until I significantly dropped the pressure. If you do that you'll get a tire pressure warning though so just make sure you add some pressure back when you're done.

Consensus seems to be start at 40/40 and see what you get.

Excellent! I haven't been autocrossing much for about 8 years. Did a few events last year in the stang and learned to hate that car. Btw, are you instructing?

I'll be walking around teaching corner working and cone chasing.

Hey all,

I see you guys are autocrossing this weekend. Figured I'd let you know we're racing at Pacific Raceways this weekend with support from Toyota of Olympia! We are racing on both Sunday and Monday! I know its like an hour drive but I figured I'd at least spread the word in case any is nearby and wants to come and say hi during the SCCA US Majors Tour event!
