What position do you sit in FR-S/BRZ???

Hello all,

I always have some minor troubles in changing sitting positions since I bought my car in 2013. I am moving/lowering/raising seat a lot, and always trying to find the best position to sit, but it doesn't seem to be very comfortable, or easy to choose one position. I've researched A LOT about sitting in FR-S/BRZ or bucket seats, and also tried to buy back cushions like a bucket seat cushion or a tempur-pedic travel cushion, but none of them helped much.

My main trouble is a mid back support. Could any one post how they sit (like a photo from a side ;)), or any recommendation for a sitting position?

Since it is my first bucket seat, I wonder I misunderstood any concept of "sitting in bucket seats".

I drive manual, and I am 5ft 2 (yeah, I am not a man :)), so I need to sit "very" close to the clutch (don't really have an option for having more legrooms to sit relaxed).

Thank you so much for your advice!!!

:thanks:

well, I personally (6'4") have my seat all the way down, and all the way back. I could move it forward a little bit, but I prefer to have my legs relatively straight so it's easier to work the clutch for me. The seat bolsters make it so the most comfortable position IMO is with your shoulders where the "wings" are, with the seat reclined a little bit. It will be uncomfortable to slouch since the seats are relatively hard and don't have much give.

I'm 5'11 and sit pretty much as far forward as possible with the seat height all the way down. I used to sit further back, but have gradually gotten closer to the wheel. I think a lot of it has to do with starting AutoX this year.

I'm like 5' 4" (female), I have the seat all the way up and usually go as front as possible(leaving like a few inches of room/making sure my knees dont touch the steering wheel area)

Depends on my mood. I always have the seat at the same location in terms of the seat track. But iof I am doing any winding hills or performance driving I keep the seat back more straight, and for everyday I keep it a notch or two back. Height usually stays the same. This car actually has the best lumbar support in any car I've ever driven, even ones that have adjustable lumbar. But that's what's nice about adjustable seats, if you don't like one position you can change it.

6'1" here. I always have the seat at about 80 degrees upright and just one peg forward from the further most setting on the rails.

As for the steering wheel I like it pulled out and pushed up. Close and personal.

I wish I could tilt the front of the seat down a bit. OP, your best bet is a custom seat, but those are not cheap. Easiest solution would be a shop that recovers seats. They could custom fit some foam to you, using the passenger seat for testing.
